Try this keyboard: Latvian Keyboard
Prepare a separate practice line
Open the Latvian keyboard. If a browser draft is already present, save it before using the trash button to start this exercise. Put the caret in the main editor and make sure Shift, Caps and Alt Gr are off. This gives the sample a predictable starting point.
Do not assume the Latin character printed on a physical key will be inserted. Q produces ū in this arrangement, and M produces ā. The small position hints help you locate keys, while the larger labels show the letters you will actually enter.
Enter the three-character exercise
Use these positions in order: Q for ū; then M for ā; then Shift + P for Č. Add one Space between each output. When using on-screen modifiers, switch them off before moving to a different layer. The resulting editor text is ū ā Č. It is a character exercise, not a word or a translation.
Shift with P supplies the complete Č. You do not need to enter a separate mark or move the caret back over the letter. After using the on-screen Shift toggle, turn it off and check that the ordinary lowercase labels have returned.
Check the result before reusing it
Compare the visible marks in all three outputs. If a letter is wrong, select that character and insert its correct mapped form rather than adding an accent beside it. Undo can reverse a mistaken replacement without clearing the rest of the exercise.
For a follow-up, try entering a reviewed name that contains one of these letters. Compare the spelling with your source and preserve the chosen case. The keyboard helps enter available letters; it does not decide the correct spelling of a name or automatically repair missing marks.
Save the exercise as a PNG image
Open Text style from the font icon. Use Arial at 28 px, Automatic color, and Left to right direction. Turn bold, italic, underline and strikethrough off. These settings apply to the whole editor. A font changes appearance, not the stored characters; your device may use a fallback font for unsupported shapes. Choose Done to close the style dialog.
Choose Save image to save the complete exercise as a PNG, with centered lines and dark text on a white background. Open the file and compare it with the sample. For an editable alternative, choose Save Word (.docx) to create a real .docx, or use Copy text for plain text. These actions use all the editor text even when only part is selected.

Tips for this layout
Learn a small group first
Locate ū, ā and č before searching the whole layout. The same approach can then be used for ē on O and ī on C, following the displayed labels.
Keep names as text when possible
Use Copy or Word when the recipient needs to search, edit or reuse a name. Choose an image only when a fixed visual rendering is the purpose.
Common questions
Does Q insert q on this page?
Not on the base Latvian layer: it inserts ū. Follow the larger displayed Latvian symbol instead of the physical keyboard’s printed letter.
Do I need a separate caron key for Č?
No. Shift with P inserts the complete mapped character Č. The exercise uses that exact position.
Can I keep the capital without changing the next letters?
Yes. Switch the on-screen Shift control off after entering Č. Subsequent keys then use the base layer unless another modifier remains active.
Try the Latvian exercise
Practice the three direct letter positions, then apply the same method to a short reviewed Latvian name or passage.
