Cookies and other storage
Cookies are small values a website or provider can store in your browser and send with later requests. Local storage and session storage are separate browser features. The keyboard uses these storage features to remember drafts and preferences.
A local draft is readable by this site’s scripts in your browser. It is not an encrypted vault or a cloud backup. Other people using the same browser profile may be able to see it.
What the keyboard remembers
A new tab can begin with the latest saved draft. After that, each tab keeps its own draft. Browser private modes, blocked storage and session restoration can change these lifetimes and behavior.
| Data | Purpose | Typical lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| Latest editor draft | Start a future visit with your most recently saved text. | Local storage; no automatic application expiry. |
| Current tab’s draft | Keep separate tabs from overwriting each other’s active draft. | Session storage; normally the tab session, subject to browser restoration. |
| Editor formatting | Remember selected font, size, styles, color and text direction. | Local storage; until changed, reset or cleared. |
| Appearance preference | Remember light, dark or system appearance. | Local storage; until changed or cleared. |
Your controls
If storage is blocked or unavailable, preferences and drafts may not survive navigation. Use Copy or a download to keep text you need. We cannot recover browser data that you delete.
- Clear empties the current editor. Undo may restore it while the page remains open.
- Use Text style to change formatting; Reset style restores the default typography.
- Use the appearance selector to choose light, dark or system appearance.
- For broader removal, close other i2Type tabs, clear this site’s data in your browser settings, then close or reload remaining pages so an open page does not save its old state again.
- Manage clipboard history, downloaded documents and browser history separately. Clearing site storage does not remove those copies.
Advertising, statistics and external services
Live pages use Statcounter and Yandex Metrica for traffic statistics. These providers can use cookies or similar identifiers for visit measurement. Google AdSense advertising is currently disabled. If enabled later, it can also use identifiers for ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention. Google Analytics remains disabled. Yandex Metrica session replay is disabled. Local previews do not load these services.
Provider storage is separate from keyboard drafts and preferences. Which values are set, and how long they remain, depend on the provider, configuration and your browser. See Statcounter’s Privacy Policy, Yandex Metrica’s cookie and storage information and Google’s cookie information for details.
Your browser can block or remove cookies and other site data. Statcounter provides an analytics-cookie refusal control; Yandex provides Yandex Metrica opt-out information. Google Ads Settings manages Google ad personalization, but does not remove every ad or cookie. Clearing site data can also remove remembered refusal choices.
The site currently has no single control for every advertising and analytics preference. The appearance selector and editor Clear control do not manage provider tracking. Google controls apply to Google services rather than Statcounter or Yandex. Merely browsing the site or accepting the terms is not consent to unrelated tracking.
External search and posting destinations can set their own cookies when you open them. Their policies and controls apply. See How Google uses information from partner sites and Google’s Privacy Policy for Google information practices.
